KEY TASKS Our Brand Continue to develop and extend the reach of the Mountbatten brand, acting as brand guardian across the whole organisation and championing our mission and values Continue to develop the Mountbatten story, ensuring staff and volunteers are able to articulate the key messages and act as brand ambassadors Adhere to and promote brand guidelines, ensuring compliance and understanding by staff and volunteers through training Work with the CEO, SMT and all managers establish key corporate messages and key facts across the organisation to ensure consistency and to maximise engagement and income generation External Communications Participate in communication strategy decisions with the CEO / SMT / Trustees. Providing first line communications support for staff and volunteers across both Mountbatten Isle of Wight and Mountbatten Hampshire on all brand and marketing activities and projects. To play a key role in creatively shaping briefs, messaging, targeting and delivery of campaigns in printed, digital and other online materials for a range of audiences. Act as brand guardian for corporate marketing campaigns, promotions and editorial services in printed, digital and other online communications material produced across the Mountbatten Group.
Project-manage and oversee appropriate publications and communication materials intended for all audiences to include devising, approving and managing briefs and schedules, through to delivery of completed items to deadline and budget. Liaise with all head of departments on marketing and communications matters, campaigns and strategies, across the Mountbatten Group. Forge strong links and regular communication with all local/national media, to ensure continued positive support of Mountbatten. Develop and implement online campaigns through various Mountbatten-led social media networks, ensuring brand and reputation management.
Managing and ensuring the regular updating of Mountbattens websites, social media platforms, and news content on the Mountbatten Intranet. Compile media releases, statements, articles and other public-facing information. Be responsible for handling media enquiries, acting both proactively and reactively to keep the organisation in the public eye and cultivating positive and open relationships with local media and press. Updating the CEO on media issues relating to Mountbatten, monitoring local press and social media activity.
Attend departmental managers meetings, as required. Internal Communications Maintaining and developing internal communications. Ensuring the smooth and timely delivery of internal messages across the Mountbatten Group. Monitoring, developing and ensuring the regular use of appropriate internal communication tools, for example, staff and volunteer e-news bulletins.
Enhancing two-way communications between departments across Mountbatten Isle of Wight and Mountbatten Hampshire. Developing relationships across all Mountbatten departments to enable the post holder to continually apprise the CEO of any feedback / issues / concerns. Engagement Develop Mountbattens stakeholder engagement strategy that effectively reaches and sustains engagement with external audiences in both catchment areas to increase awareness, support and income Plan and deliver new engagement initiatives targeted at strategic stakeholders, health professionals, patients and families Work with external partners, where appropriate, to maximise opportunities for engagement and income generation across both catchment areas e.g. at community events Establish feedback mechanisms to ensure engagement activities are meaningful and that services develop in line with feedback Ensure evaluation measures are in place to enable effective reporting of engagement activities and impact on income generation to SMT and board level Where appropriate or necessary, supporting staff to undertake public consultations on service provision Ensure engagement activities maximise opportunity to raise funds, supporting the story of the need for continued financial support Ensure consistency of messaging and to understand the ongoing communication needs of income generation to engage with supporters to raise funds Patient information Work with clinical services to produce a suite of patient and family information and literature that is relevant, up-to-date and correctly branded.
Regularly review and audit patient information to ensure quality and consistency. Lead and be responsible for the Communications Development Group, involving clinical and non-clinical staff and volunteers, to ensure quality and consistency of patient and family information, alongside all other relevant communications. Other Day-to-day supervision of volunteers supporting the Communications and Engagement department Participate in regular supervision and appraisals, with a commitment to continuous professional development Oversee appraisal process for all members of the Communications and Engagement team
