**Managed by: Mission Area Leader**

**Based at: Flexible/ Hybrid Working**

**Hours: 7 hours a week (flexible)**

**We are looking for a self-employed contractor for the services required and would be prepared to consider an hourly rate for services of around £12 to 14 depending on experience.**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

JOB PURPOSE:
To provide efficient and effective administrative services to the Mission Area and to support the Mission Area Conference to deliver the Mission Area’s vision and priorities in line with the Mission Area Action Plan.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

- Mission Area Leader
- Mission Area Wardens and leads for committees and Focus Groups
- Members of the Clergy
- Diocesan officers and staff

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) General Administration
- Act as a central point of contact for the Mission Area
- Develop, maintain and manage paper and digital filing and record keeping systems, ensuring that the requirements of Data Protection legislation are met

2) Communication
- Maintain, update and develop social media accounts and the Mission Area website
- Maintain the Church Near Me pages on the diocesan website for all churches in the Mission Area
- Produce and distribute digital and paper publications as necessary
- Maintain up to date and accurate contact lists

3) Governance, Process and Reporting
- Ensure that the Mission Area complies with regular data gathering and reporting processes including Annual Reports to the Charities Commission, Annual Returns to the Church in Wales and to the Diocese of St Asaph
- Ensure that the Mission Area fully participates in annual diocesan elections
- Ensure that the Mission Area responds to all current diocesan initiatives
- Contribute to the implementation of the Mission Area Development Plan

4) Meetings
- Arrange meetings of the Mission Area Conference, Committees and other meetings as necessary
- Provide administrative support to the MA Treasurer, Chair of Buildings, SMT and other Sub-Committees as necessary
- Prepare and distribute agendas and other documents
- Attend (and participate) at meetings
- Take the minutes
- Ensure that appropriate follow up action is taken

5) Finance
- Provide administrative support to the Mission Area Treasurer as necessary.
- Record information on the Finance Coordinator finance package
- Provide reports from the system for the MA Treasurer

- English & Mathematics to GCSE standard or equivalent
- Highly computer literate, proficient in MS Office (Word/ Excel/) and social media
- Experience in working in an administrative role
- Experience in keeping websites up to date
- Proficient in MS Publisher or similar
- Experience of working for a ‘not for profit’ organisation
- Experience of working with volunteers

- Aptitude for reviewing and developing office systems in response to availability of new technology
