**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Be part of a team to be responsible for looking after children and young people and foster carers within our agency. Provide support and help to include wraparound care of out of agency hours_, _offering a range of approaches for a provision to fit in an individual package.
- **LOCATION**:_

The post is based at our Walsall Office. This is a full-time post, 37 hours a week with flexible hours but must cover:

- Breakfast Club hours (7.30 am to 9.00am)
- After School Club (3.00pm to 6.15 pm) -if needed
- Non term time Holiday period (Flexible/Shift pattern hours)
- Weekend working
- **QUALIFICATIONS: (desirable)**_

Minimum qualification in NVQ 3 Working with Children and Young People, and or in therapeutic parenting and or DDP and or in developing a secure base for looked after children. Other related qualifications or experience -including certificate in courses attended will also be considered.
- **KEY RESPONSIBILITY**:_

The post holder will require to work flexible hours to ensure that children and young people are supported within their foster homes and with regard to their education. The key responsibilities of this post include:

- Comprehensive Wraparound support to children and young people and their foster carers.
- Working therapeutically with children and young people and their foster carers
- Planning and implementing day to day procedures, routines & activities of Ikon Fostering as required
- Contribute to the assessment, implementation and monitoring of Care Plans as required
- Undertake recording responsibilities according to requirements
- Attending and contributing to planning and review meetings if required
- Transporting/escorting children and young people on home/contact visits/school visits if appropriate
- Contribute to the education and development of the young people
- Helping to prevent placement breakdowns
- Attending any training provided by Ikon Fostering
- To be alert to signs of distress or abuse, and to ensure that the young people are monitored and protected and implement recognised Child Protection procedures
- To set appropriate boundaries to help young people manage their behaviour
- Participating in TSD standards training
- Participating in Pre-Approval Training

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Salary Scale: £20,000 - £24,500

**Experience**:
