Job Title: Sibling Worker

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Sibling Worker to join our Family Services Team at Acorns Children's Hospice Trust. As a Sibling Worker, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic support to siblings of children cared for by Acorns, ensuring they receive the necessary care and support to cope with the loss of their brother or sister.

About the Role

As a Sibling Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting assessments of siblings' needs, working closely with the sibling, parents, and carers
  • Providing pre- and post-bereavement support on an individual and group basis
  • Coordinating and delivering groups, workshops, and occasional residential weekends
  • Working collaboratively with other Sibling Workers to ensure the objectives of the service are met
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A professional degree-level qualification
  • Experience of working with children and young people
  • Experience of providing one-to-one therapeutic-based support to children and young people
  • Experience of supporting young people and families who have experienced grief and loss
  • Skills in the assessment of needs
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload

  • A competitive salary of £27,000 to £37,000 per annum, plus additional allowances
