Sibling Support Specialist

About the Role
Acorns Children\u2019s Hospice Trust is seeking a skilled Sibling Support Specialist to join our Family Services Team in our Black Country Hospice. The successful candidate will provide therapeutic-based support to siblings of children cared for by Acorns, ensuring their assessed needs are met before and after the death of their brother or sister.
Main Responsibilities
- Undertake assessments of siblings\u2019 needs, working with the sibling and their parents and carers.
- Provide pre and post-bereavement support on an individual and group basis.
- Take a lead responsibility for coordinating and delivering groups, workshops, and occasional residential weekends.
- Work closely with other Sibling Support Specialists to ensure the objectives of the service are met.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A professional degree-level qualification.
- Experience of working with children and young people.
- Experience of providing one-to-one therapeutic-based support to children and young people.
- Experience of supporting young people and families who are experiencing grief or loss.
- Skills in the assessment of needs.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
What We Offer
- A competitive salary of £27,000 to £37,000 per annum, plus additional allowances.
- Based in our Black Country Hospice, with travel across the region.
