Technical Assistant

**Crowders Nurseries**, part of the **RSK Group** is currently seeking a **Technical Assistant** on a** full time, permanent basis** at their head office in **Horncastle, Lincolnshire.**

Crowders Nurseries a leading integrated environmental, engineering, and technical services business providing dynamic, multidisciplinary services to a wide range of sectors. RSK was founded in 1989 and has grown considerably since then.

Reporting to the Technical Manager you will assist them, and the Production and Nursery Managers with any technical aspects of production across all sites. You will help manage plant and process quality, pest and disease management, environmental management, Health & Safety and crop planning and production. You will conduct technical trials of plants, materials and processes which will involve field and office-based projects and research.

**Responsibilities**:

- The number and condition of all grow stock is known and recorded.
- Ensure H&S standards are maintained whilst complying with company H&S policies.
- Monitor and help manage pest and disease control and plant nutrition. Surveillance of biosecurity risks.
- Understand all chemical use on all sites, why they are used, how they are applied, how they are stored and how they are controlled physically and through legislation.
- Understand and use biological pest control measures.
- All relevant nursery processes and activities are recorded.

**Requirements**:

- An interest and practical experience in horticulture.
- An enquiring mind that seeks solutions to problems.
- Analytical, able to carry out research and report findings.
- A self-starter who is able to manage their own work with mínimal direction.
- Interested in learning and self-development.
- Full UK driving licence as regular travel to sites is required.
