Continuous Improvement Lead

Polypipe Civils & Green Urbanisation design, develop and manufacture thermoplastic piping systems for civils and infrastructure projects with the industry’s widest choice of water management, surface water drainage, sewer and cable protection systems.
**Role**:
You will work across the CGU business supporting all functions with continuous Improvement and lean focused initiatives, both transactional and operational end to end business activities.
As a Continuous Improvement Lead you will be passionate about clear workable systems & processes. You will strive for standardisation, reduction of variation, positive change and measured improvement.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Accountable for execution of CI strategy and Genuit Business System across Polypipe CGU.
- Delivering improvement projects, using Lean, Six Sigma and other process improvement methodologies, together with appropriate project management and change management techniques.
- Identifying potential improvement projects, driving prioritisation based on quantified business value, and securing stakeholder support for project mobilisation.
- Identify what “best in class” looks like and strive to deliver a strategy and project implementations that deliver this standard.
- Develop and implement plans to improve systems and standards, capacity, efficiency, productivity, operational processes, and drive cost reduction.
- Project manage improvement initiatives including Kaizen workshops and events.
- Create and maintain a continuous improvement database and develop a set of KPIs.
- Working within cross functional teams, providing process expertise to support delivery of wider strategic change initiatives.
- Coaching the team across all departments in continuous improvement techniques/tools and supporting them to cascade this approach to their teams to engage employees and develop a proactive continuous improvement environment.
- Conduct and support problem solving events to address specific issues in a structured, sustainable way.
- Develop and deliver training and support leadership teams in embedding Continuous Improvement as part of their ways of working.
- Create a structure and road map for the deployment of CI Training within Polypipe CGU.
- At all times work in a way that supports and underpins our core values and behaviours.
- Put our customer first by delivering a philosophy of continuously seeking and adding value for our customer through delivery of improvements and innovation.
**The Person**:
- Qualification in CI/Lean/Six Sigma and/or extensive industry experience in delivering Lean and Continuous Improvement
- Previous leadership experience
- Excellent communicator at all levels
- Technical qualification CI / Engineering / Processing / Business Management, desirable but not essential.
- Technical Degree / HND or equivalent, desirable but not essential.
- Previous leadership experience within a manufacturing environment, desirable but not essential.
- Able to demonstrate previous involvement and success in Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Experience of visual management
- Knowledge of CI / Lean Tools / Root Cause Analysis / Kaizen
- Dynamic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Previous experience of using and achieving KPIs / performance measures
- Experience of project planning
- Ability to plan effective meetings and training modules
