**HR Advisor: Permanent: Horncastle based with hybrid working available: Paying £30,000 - £35,000 (DOE) + Benefits + funding through further CIPD qualifications**
Morson Talent are proud to be exclusively representing our FTSE 250 construction and logistics client in their search for an experienced and hands on HR Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis.
Reporting directly to the Divisional HR Manager, the HR Advisor will be the first point of contact for all HR matters at site with headcount of c.325, operating in a full generalist remit covering all elements of HR from supporting managers in dealing withstaffing issues effectively and implementing process improvements, through to delivering the HR strategy and line management of a HR Advisor.
Additional duties for the HR Advisor include:
- Providing advice and guidance across all areas of HR process from recruitment, contracts, and employee records, absence management, LTS cases and learning & development (in conjunction with the L&D BP) and employee relations.
- Supporting and guiding line managers in the handling of ER cases, ensuring that cases are managed promptly in a manner consistent and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Actively advising and supporting managers on best practice in respect of current employment legislation and internal policies including disciplinary & grievance, capability, absence, family friendly policies (maternity & paternity) flexible working, peopledevelopment and recruitment.
- Delivering HR administrative tasks covering all employee and reportable data; employee and training records, site based statistical data and reports (hours worked / starters & leavers / PDR tracker / absence / training records / OH health referrals andvisits, etc.)
- Maintaining an accurate and timely people related internal communications process for all communications circulated via notice boards, e mail, digital platforms and management meetings.Undertaking face to face HR related activities, new starter inductions,supporting employee representative forums, service recognition awards, etc.
- Collaborating with Occupational Health to ensure medical records are maintained, ill health capability and LTS cases are managed effectively.Fit for purpose return to work plans are implemented to ensure employees return to work safely.
- Coaching and mentoring employees in both technical and behavioural skills in support of their personal and professional development.
- Supporting the implementation of a Group HRIS system
- Supporting the development and delivery of strategic group HR projects
The HR Advisor will join the organisation at a significant time of growth and change, it is therefore vital that the HR Advisor is accustomed to working in a changing, industrial environment. A strong generalist background, CIPD Level 3 or 5 qualificationis essential. The below criteria are highly desirable:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a HR generalist role ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Good working knowledge of employment law, HR policies and procedures.
- Experience of working within a unionised environment would be advantageous
- Familiarity of working in the transport/logistics sector would be advantageous
- Working knowledge of Microsoft packages, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience of HR systems
- Knowledge of payroll to assist with pay queries
- Able to deliver best practice HR solutions, demonstrate commercial awareness and decision-making skills
- Understanding of employees statistical data to make informed decisions.
