**Working days and hours**: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week, 9am - 5pm Monday to Fridays (8am - 4pm Monday to Friday may also be considered)
**Home Working Options**: Yes, this may be considered as an option throughout this assignment on a Hybrid basis (Part Office Based and Part Home-Based) - TBC
**Hourly Pay Rate**:£10.09 PAYE per hour, £11 PAYE Holiday Inclusive per hour or £11.50 Umbrella per hour

**Job Summary**:
- To carry out a range of support secretarial and administrative duties
- Support the psychiatrist and adult learning disabilities community integrated teams for the South and East Durham by carrying out the following:
- Booking appointments, handling phone calls, typing clinic letters, carrying out dictation, dealing with prescriptions
- To be responsible for ensuring the provision of a full secretarial service to consultants, junior medical staff, advanced practitioners, and other staff within the multidisciplinary team
- Effectively communicate with patients, visitors, and all levels of staff in a clear and articulate way, assisting with all general patient/carer related queries where necessary in person or via telephone
- Use a range of IT tools to produce documents and letters where required
- Update information onto relevant systems as appropriate, demonstrating great level of accuracy
- Use MS Office Applications daily, including Excel, Word, and Outlook where required
- Work well independently and within a team, always showing great level of professionalism
**Person Specification - Experience and Skills**
- Experienced Medical Secretary/equivalent within relevant NHS, Private Healthcare or Hospital experience
- Good level of administrative skills with great attention to detail
- Excellent copy typing skills - with the ability and experience of transcribing accurately from audiotape with digital dictation and/or shorthand skills
- Experience of typing clinic letters to a good standard
- Good diary management and organisational skills
- Competent usage of MS Office Applications including excel, word, outlook
- Proactive with a flexible approach
- Previous experience of using NHS/Healthcare database systems - highly beneficial
- Experience of working as part of a team and independently
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Appropriate handling of sensitive/confidential information
**Requirements**:
To commence employment as a Medical Secretary via Your World Healthcare, if successful; you must be fully registered and compliant via Your World Healthcare in the first instance. To become compliant, you will need to:
- Complete full work registration via Your World Healthcare (prior to commencing employment)
- Provide a minimum of 2x professional employment/educational references covering the last 3 years.
