Institute Administration Assistant

You will be located in the Suttie Centre for Teaching and Learning in Healthcare which is the flagship educational resource for both the University of Aberdeen and NHS Grampian and a centre of excellence in the field of teaching and learning in healthcare.

There is a small administrative team of a manager and another administration assistant and this post will be integral to that team with varied duties including reception, room bookings for teaching and training events, updating information for users on the website, plasma screens etc., reporting faults, recording public engagement, dealing with deliveries, working with student societies, managing equitable access for both partners, lost property, clerking meetings, ordering, invoicing and managing locker space.

The facility has an exemplary reputation for providing the highest quality service which maximises the experience for both staff and students as well as a growing external reputation of excellent facilities and customer service for conferences and events.

The ultimate aim is to assist with the facilitation of teaching and training throughout the Suttie Centre and its satellites MacGillivray Academic Centre, ARI Medical Lecture Theatre and Dugald Baird. We also envisage that the Suttie administrative team will expand its remit to provide support for other joint teaching and learning facilities and incorporate further satellites potentially including the new Baird Family Hospital and ANCHOR Cancer Project teaching spaces.

This is an interesting and varied post with interaction with colleagues across the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition, NHS Grampian and external organisations. It offers the opportunity to develop and broaden your organisational and communication skills and you will be the first point of contact for staff and students.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 3, £22,197 - £24,715 per annum, with placement according to qualifications and experience.
