Emergency Care Assistant

As part of our planned expansion into Urgent Care/Paramedic Emergency Services, Combined Medical Services Limited are seeking to appoint qualified Emergency Care Assistants to join our team. The role of the Emergency Care Assistant involves working as part of an ambulance crew responding to urgent and emergency calls, having direct contact with patients and others, whilst providing supportive and compassionate care. Day-to-day duties for an Emergency Care Assistant would involve working as part of an ambulance crew responding to calls as allocated, providing emergency and urgent assistance, driving safely and progressively under emergency response conditions. The Emergency Care Assistant will assist, support and deliver transport capability for patients needing admission to a hospital or secondary care.
You may work as a specific transport resource along with a similar grade colleague or you may be paired with a Paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician/Associate Ambulance Practitioner. You will work within a defined Scope of Practice and within organisational policy and process.
As part of our safer recruitment process, please ensure you meet the criteria below:
- Category B full UK manual driving licence with 12 months driving experience and no more than 3 penalty points
- Physically fit and capable of assisting patients with various mobility needs
- Motivated, enthusiastic and engaging
- An effective communicator
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Flexible approach to working patterns due to the nature of our work, including weekends. There will be opportunities to work additional hours
- Must be over 21 years old, for insurance purposes only
- Qualsafe Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) or NHS Ambulance Trust equivalent qualification
- FAQ Level 3 Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving (CERAD) or NHS Ambulance Trust equivalent qualification
- Able to demonstrate a minimum of 12 months experience within an Emergency Care Assistant role
**Salary**: £13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
