J&C Joel supply, manufacture, and install, a range of products into the entertainment and events industry. The core of its business is flame retardant fabrics, and manufacturing high-end technical and decorative drapery. Over the last 15 years J&C Joel has hugely grown and developed its stage engineering solutions through its Project’s department, which installs a wide range of systems, ranging from basic curtain tracks and drapery, through to high performance motorised rigging and stage engineering, with sophisticated automation controls.

The award-winning company has been trading successfully for over 40 years and has a global reach through several international facilities, with a HQ in West Yorkshire, as well as offices and operations in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

J&C Joel’s products and services can be found all over the world, from school auditoriums, TV and film studios and live entertainment venues to internationally renowned performing arts venues, including theatres, exhibition halls and the world’s most prestigious opera houses.

**PURPOSE**

Our UK Creative Sales team deal with design led and / or complex and large-scale UK drapery projects, working heavily in West End, touring theatre and global concert touring within a variety of exciting and fast-moving sectors.

The team was formed out of an understanding that these projects need a specific focus and skillset to find solutions for challenging designs and ideas. Quite often, they also require the team to move quickly to meet tight deadlines. The team prides itself on being an invaluable resource for designers, specifiers and clients from the concept right through to installation.

The role also involves proactively contacting new and existing customers with a view to discussing upcoming projects.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To deal with incoming enquiries, ensuring all relevant information is obtained from the customer.
- To break down enquiries in order to fully understand what is involved in successfully delivering the brief.
- To cost enquiries in accordance with company and departmental processes and send quotations to customers.
- To communicate with customers to convert quotations into orders.
- To liaise with your colleagues across the business to ensure a project can be delivered within the customer’s desired timescale.
- To process orders in an accurate and timely manner.
- To liaise with colleagues to ensure all elements of the project are on track.
- To maintain and progress existing customer relationships, including external visits to customer premises.
- To carry out site visits and measure ups within the scope of your training and ability.
- To seek out and nurture new customers and revenue streams.
- To promote the cross selling of products and services across the business.
- To use the CRM system fully and in accordance with internal procedures.
- To pass on important customer feedback to your Manager and team.
- To monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information as and when requested.
- To represent J&C Joel at trade shows.
- To keep up to date with new products and services.
- To develop and maintain industry knowledge and awareness through the regular reading of trade publications, webinars, training courses.
- To identify and resolve client concerns in conjunction with the Quality department.
- To carry out any other ad-hoc duties as requested by your Manager.

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- Strong B2B sales / business development background
- Reliability and consistency.

- Strong communicator.
- Persistence, patience and the ability to see a task through to the end.
- Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
- An ability to think laterally.
- Exceptional organisational skills.
- Relevant industry or têxtile experience desirable.
- Ability to read technical drawings desirable.
- Ability to use AutoCAD or similar software desirable.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Full UK Drivers Licence.
