Job summary

SLT is vulnerable and vital within ICB clinical transformation. SLT Leads have been mapping current pathways given their variation. A number of these need review including competency framework and workforce model.

**These are**: Children’s Voice, Children’s dysphagia, Hearing Impairment, Adult Dysfluency, Transgender Voice, Adult AAC, Frailty, Dementia, Admissions avoidance - care home support and deflection and support delivery of 2HUR and Virtual Wards, Videofluroscopy and FEES for community patients, Care Homes - prevent hospital admissions, reduce choking and deaths related to aspirations, Weekend hospital services which results to delays in patient care, Long Covid.

This exciting leadership opportunity for either a 2 half day roles or one, 1 day a week role will lead a network, agree a pathway, competency framework and workforce model. This will pave the way for future pathway development.

This role will engage across organisations in all relevant sectors. The post holder will be build great relationships supporting improvement.

The postholder will lead the development of a clinical network, agreed clinical pathway, competency framework and workforce model for one of our priority pathways.

This work will help create a blueprint for the development of further SLT system wide pathways. The post holder will work with colleagues at all levels internally within the organisation and externally with system partners including senior managers, executives, project managers and teams across the region and act in a highly autonomous capacity. They will have the experience and ability to be collaborative workers, building great relationships with all key stakeholders across the local system and supporting the delivery of a programme of transformation and improvement work for Speech and Language Therapy.

This position is 10 months 0.1wte or 0.2 wte, as a secondment opportunity only.

The role will be time limited, varied and will adapt over time as the role develops.

The Clinical leadership posts are a pivotal role to provide, through collaboration, consensus of clinical advice and transformation across the system. This role will span across organisations in all sectors within Lancashire and South Cumbria including providers, commissioners and third sector stakeholders.

The post holder will work with colleagues at all levels internally within the organisation and externally with system partners including senior managers, executives, project managers and teams across the region and act in a highly autonomous capacity.
