An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and highly creative **Designer **to join the Puffin 6+ team at Penguin Random House Children's, working on the design of book covers and interiors. Joining a team of 12 and reporting into the Deputy Art Director, you will work across a wide range of titles from beginner readers through to YA and in both fiction and non-fiction.

Our designers work on a huge range of different books but what they all have in common is clever creativity and oustanding design. Our brilliant designers look after some of the very best established authors, illustrators and brands in children's publishing alongside finding and nurturing new talent.

**What you’ll bring**

We’re looking for a designer with exceptional typographic and layout skills, an amazing design eye and creative flair plus the ability to turn their concepts into innovative and commercial packages.

We’re looking for someone who:

- Is a clear communicator with experience of collaborating with illustrators.
- Is able to build and sustain positive and productive relationships with other colleagues within the editorial, sales, production and rights teams.
- Is confident developing concepts for book covers and interiors and has experience doing so.
- Has a demonstrable interest in, and understanding of, the children’s book market and can speak to current trends, brands, illustrators and authors.

On the technical side, you’ll:

- Be a fluent user of InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Have a working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
- Have exceptional organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, all with different lead times.
- Ensure that all work is delivered to the highest standard and on schedule - and that all administration and file management is up-to-date and accurate.

**Salary**: circa £31,000 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.

For this role we expect that three days per week will be based at our offices in Nine Elms, London.
