Progress Teachers are working with a fantastic School in Leicester to appoint an outstanding **Learning Support Assistant (LSA)** to provide **in-class support **as well as **tailored and effective 1:1 / small group interventions.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with **classroom management, employing effective** **behaviour management** strategies to help students maintain focus and engage with work.
- Support students in their **academic, social, and emotional development**.
- **Assist in assessment**, **creating and maintaining accurate records** of attainment to be shared with colleagues, parents/carers.
- **Assist in the preparation and organisation of resources and activities** as required.
- **Collaborate effectively with colleagues **to ensure a seamless provision for pupils.
- Assist in creating a **positive and inclusive learning environment, modelling positive attitudes and behaviours at all times.**:

- Provide **1:1** or **small group support **to students with **SEN, SEMH, or challenging behaviours.**:

- **Build and maintain a positive relationship** with students, whilst **being a resilient character**.
- **Provide a safe and healthy environment** and **follow safeguarding procedures.**

**Requirements**:

- Prior experience working with young people with SEN, SEMH and/or challenging behaviour is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with students of all ages.
- Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to pupils' needs.
- A **DBS on the update service (or willing to get one)**:

- **CACHE Supporting Teaching and Learning OR equivalent** is advantageous.

**Salary**: £82.09-£90.00 per day
