As part of the Heads of Department (HODs) team your responsibility will be to manage a team of Sourcing Managers ensuring the effective provision of multiple transportation services within defined geographical areas and be overall fully accountable for negotiating rates, terms and conditions with suppliers, as well as monitoring the on-going commercial and operational performance of these services/suppliers

The post holder can be fully remote either in the UK or Overseas; as regular travel and visits to our Head Office in Brighton will be key to the success of the role

Experience within the Travel purchasing sector is highly desirable

The landscape of ground transportation is changing at an amazing speed; therefore, the product requires constant re-evaluation in terms of technology, customer experience, and innovation

Contracted hours will be defined, however as a member of the HODs team you will be expected to work as necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role

This position has a number of direct reports based in the UK and overseas

Key responsibilities in managing your team (not exhaustive nor limited to):

- Manage personnel tasks and monitor performance levels of your Sourcing Managers within their geographical areas of responsibility
- Liaise with the pricing and sales teams (plus all other relevant stakeholders) to maximise sales volumes and profit growth
- Identify and source suitable suppliers and products / services, negotiate market leading rates and special offers or exclusive deals with key suppliers throughout the contract life
- Ensure ALL suppliers adhere to the Groups robust health and safety policies and SLA’s
- Instigate, investigate and resolve any supplier related internal issues with cross department colleagues.
- Be mindful of product development opportunities within areas of control and be prepared to champion new product developments internally within the Group and other business units.

- Highly numerate, analytical and creative in order to evaluate proposals and opportunities that are advantageous to the Group
- Strong influencing and persuasion skills, both internally and externally
- Empathy with the challenges of other members of the HODs

**Essential Experience**/Knowledge/Attitude**
- Experience of working with Transport Suppliers & DMC’s across a wide range of cultures is essential, as is demonstrable experience working in a fast-paced, geographically spread, and multicultural businesses
- Complex supplier management experience - balancing quality, service, commercial opportunity, and market pressures
- Proactive approach in a dynamic and fast paced environment
- Time sensitive awareness, working with tight deadlines whilst remaining accurate and level headed
- Excellent Excel and IT skills with wider technical awareness
