The post-holder will be primarily responsible for providing a wide range of diverse activities to stimulate our resident’s interest in an effort to combat boredom, social isolation, poor mental health and antisocial behaviour.

This role is particularly exciting as it requires a unique and creative person with their own vision to build and adapt this program based on resident interest and need.

**Roles/ Responsibilities**:

- To design programs and activities that enhance the intellectual and social wellbeing of our residents.
- To create more structured and stimulating activities to take place within the hostel in order to offer our residents an alternative to boredom and sedentary habits.
- To engage ‘at-risk’ individuals in alternatives to antisocial behaviour, crime & alcohol and drug use.
- To be a ‘contact person’ for external services, training providers and activity providers within the hostel.
- To be responsible for the organisation and supervision of any drop-in surgery’s that may need to take place.
- To promote the St Anne’s holistic vision in tackling homelessness and disadvantage.

**Duties**:

- To be responsible for the planning and organisation of a ‘social calendar’ for the hostel residents, which is responsive to current trends seen within the hostel and resident need.
- To foster and encourage pre-existing resident hobbies and interests.
- To offer new and exciting activities and interests to the residents and to generate structure and anticipation within the hostel.
- To liaise with internal teams and external services in order to organise and provide activities both on and offsite.
- To devise and execute activities for residents which are social, educational, purposeful and offer training outcomes.
- To assist management in actively marketing St Anne’s Hostel and promoting a positive profile within the community and on social media platforms.
- To foster good community relations and build upon our list of partnering services.
- To maintain acuate records using the relevant documents to monitor, record and evaluate individual and group participation and satisfaction.
- To maintain a high standard of resident record keeping and case note taking in accordance with Data Protection Legislation, Confidentiality Policies and Procedures and also wider GDPR Guidelines.
- To work well amongst a team and keep open communication with colleagues.
- To maintain reporting of statistical information and key performance indicators to your line manager.
- To assist in planning and carrying out special events such as BBQs, resident meetings, open days and in-services.

**Essential**:

- Relevant experience or transferrable skills of working in creative activities and/or working within homelessness or with vulnerable individuals, charities, or in a similar related role.
- Good organisation skills and the ability to self-start and work independently
- Good time management skills
- Understanding of homelessness in Birmingham and the pertinent factors that contribute to homelessness.
- Excellent IT skills and attention to detail
- social media understanding/ experience is desired but not essential.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 25 per week

**Salary**: £10.00 per hour
