**Job description**:
This role will play an essential role in defining and supporting sound knowledge and information management practices across the Met Office programmes directorate. Sat within the newly established Programme Management Office (PMO), this supports the delivery of our strategic objectives, growing our capabilities and promoting our values to encourage a knowledge sharing culture.

This role is critical to providing KIM services to Met office project deliovery, providing comprehensive through noticing, sourcing, synthesising and curating information that grows our organisational knowledge sharing capability, showcasing expertise and making best use of our enterprise collaboration tools.

You will bring a professional, enthusiastic and collaborative approach to your work, raising the profile of the PMO and the KIM function through engagement and training and advisory services, translating your expertise into improvements resulting in the growth of KIM capabilities across the organisation.

As our PMO Knowledge and Information Coordinator, the key duties are:
Manage information assets across project and programme delivery in line with KIM Principles, with practices in place to determine and manage their integrity, accessibility, authority, and availability, ensuring they are accessible and usable across the programme directorate.

- Develop the repository for items under configuration control, ensuring it is appropriate to manage; receipt, identification, storage, retention and accessibility of such items.
- Ensure systems and/or mechanisms in place that enable programme staff to easily find information, expertise and knowledge.
- Develop, implement and manage Configuration Management processes for the programmes directorate in line with corporate KIM standards.
- Ensure clear accountability and actions taken on lessons learnt and these are shared and promoted for the benefited of other programmes to support a culture of continual improvement and enable tacit knowledge and expertise to be shared with those who need it and made explicit where possible
- Carry out configuration verification, reviews and audits. Report on the status of items under configuration control for management.

**Essential Qualifications, Skills & Abilities**:

- Experience of establishing protocols to capture, evaluate and manage documentation so that it is discoverable, relevant, accessible and authoritative.
- Experience of identifying, share and promoting best practices and lessons learnt in a way that is well understood and able to be applied by a diverse user group
- Experience of building and nurturing relationships across different areas of the business and with different stakeholders to gain commitment to new ways of working.
- Proficient in business use of cloud-based collaboration tools including Microsoft365 suite and administration of SharePoint to manage and share information and knowledge.
- Demonstrate an awareness of Knowledge and Information Management principles and best practice to ensure the effective and compliant management of information and knowledge.
