DRCSAS exists to relieve the trauma and distress and help rebuild the lives of survivors living in Devon and Torbay who have experienced any form of sexual violence, at any point in their lives.

DRCSAS also campaigns and raises awareness about rape and sexual violence to change the narrative around sexual violence and to enable survivors’ voices to be heard.

DRCSAS works to feminist principles, which underpin our service, and we maintain a woman only workforce and women only support spaces four days a week. Our work is guided by a trauma-informed approach which understands how traumatic experiences can impact on survivors and keeps an awareness of the effects of trauma at the forefront of our approach.

**Role Overview**:
Are you experienced in supporting survivors on helpline services with a passion for working in an organisation, offering high quality support to victims of Sexual Violence?

Are you organised, works well in a team but also a woman who can also work on their own initiative?

We are seeking to recruit a DRCSAS Helpline Coordinator based in our Exeter office but occasionally also to cover shifts in our Torquay office. You will attend and supervise helpline shifts providing support to our team of helpline volunteers.

**You will respond to safe-guarding concerns from the helpline service on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings and from the counselling and specialist support teams on Tuesday evenings.**

**Key responsibilities**:
Coordinate, attend and supervise helpline shifts, Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings, and provide support to the helpline volunteers ensuring they are resourced and safeguarding policies and procedures are understood and followed.

Emotionally support volunteers or staff who are working with survivors during your shift.

Contribute to overall service monitoring, evaluation, review and development.

Work collaboratively with the Volunteer and Training Coordinator in order to support each other and ensure continuity of services.

Work alongside the Volunteer and Training Coordinator around supervision of volunteers, complex cases and safeguarding.

This role supports the work of the organisation to ensure we continue to meet the needs of victim survivors. You will be joining a passionate team of woman at a time of exciting developments.

**Applicants will undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check before appointment and a mandatory right to work check.**

The post includes participation in an evening on-call rota and occasional weekend work.

**Salary**: £23, 868 FTE (Spinal point 1 on a 5-year annual incremental scale. Details of which will be provided on appointment)

**Hours: 14 hours per week to include Wednesday afternoons**

Responsible to: Partnerships and Community Manager

Office Base: Main Office Base is Exeter, with occasional working in our other offices.

Contract: Permanent

Pension: 6% contribution by employer

Annual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays (pro rata)
