The communications support officer will provide a comprehensive, professional, proactive, customer focused business support service to the communications team. They will develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure that our people and our stakeholders are motivated, well informed and engaged.

The role is an entry-level position for someone wanting to learn and progress their career in communications and offers great development opportunities. There are ongoing learning and shadowing opportunities as well as the chance to join organisational wide groups and networks. We have a strong track record of internal promotions for people who want to progress.

**What you will do**
- Help develop and deliver external and internal communications plans that align with the communications and organisation strategy to meet the needs of our audiences.
- Help to deliver our digital communications, including content management across our website, social media channels and production of written, visual and audio content.
- Support communications activity aligned to campaigns, time bound projects and task and finish groups.
- Support the team to manage the ongoing planning of communications activity and to communicate our key messages to the public, registrants and other key stakeholders.
- Provide support for internal and external meetings by managing meeting invites, preparing agendas, collating and circulating documents, formatting presentations and taking minutes.
- Manage general inboxes and support in the preparation of written responses to internal/external enquiries in a timely way, ensuring they are clear, accurate and tailored to the needs of the audience.
- Support with the management of our stakeholder relationship management system, creating and maintaining records with accuracy, and generating reports that provide insight and information in relation to our stakeholder communications activity.
- Support to deliver day-to-day internal communications activities, helping to plan, research and generate content and use a range of channels to ensure that there is timely, accurate, appropriate and consistent messaging.
- Maintain and audit folders and databases to ensure safe and accurate storage, including filing and archiving, of information and files.
- Support conferences, meetings or events including logistics, preparation of event materials and messaging.
- Use a range of tools to evaluate the impact of our communications activity, identifying trends and escalating issues where appropriate.

**Your skills, knowledge and experience**
- Some marketing/communications experience across multiple channels, including copywriting, events and digital.
- Experience of creating marketing or communications materials for a range of audiences and tailoring the messaging and content appropriately.
- Experience of providing administrative or project support.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of key external and internal stakeholders.
- Strong verbal communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to produce and present information to different audiences.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with others, manage a workload and generate ideas to improve performance and outcomes of communications activities.
- Good team player able to work with others to achieve a shared goal.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain a professional approach and experience of working with confidential information.
- A can do attitude with the ability to solve problems and think creatively.
- Competence in MS Office software - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.

- Salary: £23,512, rising to £24,548 after successful completion of a 6-month probationary period.
