LYPFT is currently looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our CONNECT service, a newly developed specialist adult eating disorders service (previously the Yorkshire Centre for Eating Disorders) which provides specialist care for adults with eating disorders across the West Yorkshire region.

The post holder will work as part of the CONNECT Community Service and will have a lead role within the wider MDT in the assessment and treatment of community patients with eating disorders.

You will be qualified with full registration with GMC as well as have a good understanding of eating disorders and experience of working within an MDT. You will have Approved Clinician status and S12 approval or be willing to achieve thie within 3 months of appointment. Clinical experience and endorsement in eating disorders psychiatry is desirable but not essential.

You will be familiar with community-based risk management and will be capable of upholding a clear and coherent clinical model for a team working across a wide geographical region.

LYPFT are in the process of agreeing in partnership a revised and increased starting salary for newly appointed consultants which aims to be agreed by September. This post will be in scope for the new consultant salary range once agreed.

This is a 10 PA post plus a 1% category B availability for out of hours on-call duties.

**The post holder will**:

- Carry out assessments of new patients referred to the service.
- Provide medical reviews and attend CPAs for community patients
- Provide medical input to the team as required
- Attend and chair weekly MDT assessment meetings.
- Work closely with wider MDT to screen referrals into the service, liaise with referrers and attend and chair weekly team meetings.
- Attend and chair local MEED expert group meetings and provide advice and consultation to MEED group members and external agencies when required.
- Initiate and carry out assessments under the Mental Health Act 1983 when required.
- Provide professional leadership, including clinical supervision to the CONNECT Community Service.
