**Job title: High Dependency Personal Assistant**

**Location: Caernarfon Area**

**Hours of work: 36 hours per week.**

**Rate of pay: £10.50 per hour - currently under review**

**Introduction**:
A committed, caring and flexible High Dependancy Personal Assistant working as part of a team providing 24/7 personal care and support to a Tetraplegic gentleman in his home. The 36 hours are to be worked in 3 x 12 hour shifts including sleeping night shifts as well as covering for holidays and sickness absence. This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable this gentleman to manage his support independently. Training can be provided as required and where available. A full clean driving license is essential to drive the client’s vehicle which is a wheel chair adapted van.

**Main Duties**:

- Some Nursing care - full training will be provided.
- Personal care
- Domestic work such as cleaning, laundry, cooking and general tidying up
- Ensure their safety at all times during your working period.
- Provide companionship at home and engage in lively positive conversation.
- Local knowledge of activities available would be advantageous to this post, as the hours worked could be off-site within the community.
- To carry out any other reasonable requests that the employer may make from time to time.

- Active and energetic.
- Proactive individual with local knowledge.
- A good sense of humour.
- Caring, honest, responsible and patient.
- Flexibility around hours of work and main duties of the job.
- Reliable with good time keeping.
- Able to use own initiative and be self-motivated.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy.
- An ability to develop and maintain a supportive relationship.
- Good communication and inter-personal skills.
- Previous experience an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.

A full clean driving license essential to drive the client’s vehicle which is a wheel chair adapted van.

**Benefits**

5.6 weeks’ holiday per year (pro rata).

Sick pay at SSP rate.

Training provided if required, where available.
