**Role**: Children's Residential Care Worker

**Size of provision**:5 bedded children's homes

**Salary**:£20,442.24 plus £2,880 - £3,600 sleep-in allowance

**Type of provision**:The children in our care range between the ages of 6-14 years of age on admission and come from adverse backgrounds. This may include; neglect, physical harm, sexual abuse, substance misuse, domestic violence.

As one of the largest providers of specialist education and behavioural health services for children in the UK; we are seeking Children's Residential Care Workers to join our teams within our complex trauma children's homes.

**About us**:
We understand that it will be a traumatic time for a child being away from family and/or their usual surroundings, on top of the trauma they may have already experienced.

Our homes have a sense of family and within this it is natural that children and staff fall into general family roles.

The children themselves often form sibling type bonds within the home and it is very inspiring and rewarding to see them develop and progress with a sense of respect and self worth

The children in our care range between the ages of 4-12 years of age on admission and come from adverse backgrounds. This may include; neglect, physical harm, sexual abuse, substance misuse, domestic violence.

**Duties**:
You will be involved in all aspects of their everyday life, such as household duties, transporting the children to different provisions, paperwork and making positive differences in their lives. We all have the same purpose: _To enable all people in our care to achieve their personal best._
- Providing transport for the young people to access different provisions
- Making sure the young person in your care has taken their daily medication
- Helping the young people access education
- Household duties
- Paperwork
- Days out (social events, shopping, cinema, swimming, going to the beach, going on holiday)
- Contacts, visits, key work meeting and therapy sessions
- Offering guidance, support and structure to their everyday lives

**Requirements**:

- Full UK driving license with access to own vehicle
- Flexibility to work shifts which will include long days and sleep ins
- We are looking for people who have life skills, having experience with children or health and social care would benefit but this is NOT essential for us at Cambian as full training and support is provided

Requirements for an Enhanced DBS and reference checking will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice.
