**Job Title**: Maintenance Engineer
**Location**: Whitstable, Kent
**Salary**: £35,000 to £45,000 per annum dependent on experience
**Term: **Permanent
Premier Group are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join an Engineering company Whitstable to work on the service and maintenance of their manufacturing and production machinery.
**The Maintenance Engineer will ideally have the following attributes**:

- NVQ/ BTEC/ HNC Level 3 or similar in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Services
- Previous industry experience working in a similar manufacturing environment
- 3 years or more experience of working in a similar hands-on Maintenance Engineer role
- Safe, component knowledge of plant equipment and a good understanding of Health & Safety regulations
- Experience in using a computerised Maintenance management system
- Able to work well alone as well as part of a team
- Good PLC control system knowledge from working with similar automated equipment
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Be flexible to undertake shift work
- Highly responsible, reliable, and flexible with a strong work ethic
- Strong knowledge of Pneumatic / Hydraulic Mechanical system knowledge
- Ability to reach Mechanical / Electrical drawings

**The Maintenance Engineering role will involve**:

- Performing set maintenance schedules and procedures, the ethos of planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Responding to any emergency machine breakdowns too
- Overhauling and repair of all plant equipment
- Installation of new equipment and machines when required too
- Working with single phase and three phase electrical circuits
- You will always be seeking ways to continually improve operations
- Making sure regular inspection checks of electrical/mechanical safety equipment are done and cleaning control panels
- Monitoring fixed and mobile equipment
- Finding root causes to faults and repairing electrical breakdowns
- You will be responsible for supporting the running of their factory by resolving unplanned downtime and providing an overall quality maintenance service
- Working with high speed rotating machinery
- Fault finding, testing, and removal or adjustment of existing fittings, fixtures, and part
