**About us**
**We are the Institute for Government & Public Policy.**
Our vision is to be a leading influencer and informer in the ongoing public policy development and debate.
Our focus is on government and public policy and on how it impacts all those it affects. Our belief is that the most productive and positive outcomes can only be delivered through enhancing knowledge, disseminating excellence, collaboration, and ongoing discussions.
We support our partners, members, and other stakeholders through professional development (including events, courses, and membership), peer-to-peer support, policy and influence, and research.
**The role**
The **Conference Producer** supports the Research & Content in producing and delivering online and face-to-face conferences and events. They are a member of the Operational
Management Team.
This team currently comprises a department head and two Conference Production
Managers.
The primary role of Research & Content is to produce training and event concepts, develop event content, and acquire trainers and conference chairs/speakers to deliver the course or conference.
IGPP between 80 to 100 full-day conferences a year, of which approximately 10 are face-to
- face conferences (normally held in Central London). Alongside these, we deliver an expanding range of training events.
Research & Content also contributes to our marketing and membership activity (e.g. by conducting surveys, sourcing/producing research, post-event reports, and writing blogs, etc).
Content underpins everything we do. You will need to create topical, relevant, interesting, and engaging events which deliver commercial success. Ideally, our events will be anchored to a current legislative or public policy change supported by evidence-based academic research.
You must effectively and efficiently identify and select the best topics to meet these criteria.
Horizon scanning, research, and analysis (including customer and past-performance data analysis) are essential tools in this process. After the topics are chosen, you need to schedule them (avoiding competitors and other conflicts) and oversee the writing of high
- quality overviews and agendas which support the commercial success of the event.
With these in place, you need to identify and acquire high-quality speakers and trainers
(ideally with a broad range of diversity). And you must get a commitment from these speakers/trainers as early as possible before events take place to give marketing and sales the maximum opportunity to sell them.
