**The Role**
The Conference Producer supports the Research & Content in producing and delivering online and face-to-face conferences and events. They are a member of the Operational Management Team.
This team currently comprises a department head and two Conference Production Managers.
The primary role of Research & Content is to produce training and event concepts, develop event content, and acquire trainers and conference chairs/speakers to deliver the course or conference.
IGPP delivers between 60 and 80 full-day conferences annually, of which approximately 50 are face-to-face conferences (typically held in Central London or Manchester). Alongside these, we deliver an expanding range of training events.
Research and content also contribute to our marketing and membership activities (e.g., by conducting surveys, sourcing/producing research, writing post-event reports, and blogging).
Content underpins everything we do. You will need to create topical, relevant, interesting, and engaging events which deliver commercial success. Ideally, our events will be anchored to a current legislative or public policy change supported by evidence-based academic research.
You must effectively and efficiently identify and select the best topics to meet these criteria. Horizon scanning, research, and analysis (including customer and past-performance data analysis) are essential tools in this process. After the topics are chosen, you need to schedule them (avoiding competitors and other conflicts) and oversee the writing of high quality overviews and agendas which support the commercial success of the event.
With these in place, you need to identify and acquire high-quality speakers and trainers (ideally with a broad range of diversity). And you must get a commitment from these speakers/trainers as early as possible before events take place to give marketing and sales the maximum opportunity to sell them.
