**The Role**:
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Lead Secretary to join our Specialist Children's Health Services Unit at Udston Hospital. The postholder will:
- Supervise an administrative team of secretaries and administrative clerks and to provide a comprehensive administrative support to a team of clinicians, enabling clinicians to operate effectively and efficiently. Ensure the work of the administrative team is carried out in accordance with NHS Lanarkshire’s standard operating procedures.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to a team of clinicians, enabling clinicians to operate effectively and efficiently. Work in accordance with standard operating procedures.

**What we'll need you to bring**:
- SVQ level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) plus prior experience as a medical secretary
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
- Evidence of effective team working and dealing with change
- Evidence of good communication skills with patients, clinicians and colleagues.
- Advanced audio typing skills
- Evidence of strong competence with relevant IT systems
- Excellent organisational skills
- Proven ability to work under pressure
- Car driver with valid UK driving licence
**It would be great if you also have**:
- Previous scheduling experience
- Prior NHS experience
- Waiting times experience
- Knowledge of Treatment Time Guarantee (TTG)
- Working knowledge of Trakcare and Microsoft Office packages including Word and Excel
- Previous supervisor experience.

This role will be based in Specialist Children's Health Services Unit within Udston Hospital.
