This is a genuine opportunity to shape the future of Nuclear Power within the UK, helping Britain achieve net zero. In this role you’ll be responsible for the delivery of £1bn capital investment to enable Sizewell B Power Station to generate low carbon electricity to at least 2055 - 20 years beyond the current station lifecycle. You’ll provide strategic leadership and direction to the organisation and manage key relationships in EDF in the UK and internationally, including interactions with regulatory bodies such as the Office of Nuclear Regulation and Supply Chain partners.

**The Opportunity**

Working at Sizewell B, you’ll be involved with the functional delivery team, adapting to change as the organisation delivers the programmes of work and working with a collaboration of EDF and partner organisations across project management and engineering technical design disciplines and on-site delivery engineers. The engineering programme delivery over the next 10 years is through an integrated delivery schedule incorporating plant, refurbishment, replacement and upgrade, together with the associated technical and safety case activities required to deliver life extension.

**What you’ll be doing**

As a member of our Station management team, instilling a strong safety culture and engagement with senior internal and external stakeholders will be paramount to your everyday. As the leader of the programme team, championing EDF’s core values of safety, good sense, accountability, transparency, teamwork, respect and passion will be essential.

Your core responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

- Approval of the Integrated Work Schedule
- Adherence of the programme to required EDF and regulatory policies
- Delivery of the Integrated Work Schedule within safety case parameters, environmental and quality requirements, cost and time
- Ownership of the Investment Business Case and successful realisation of the defined benefits
- Ensuring appropriate oversight and governance arrangements
- Driving innovation, change, simplification and efficiency in programme management and delivery
- Developing an appropriate organisation to deliver the investment programme
- Oversight of the technical and commercial validity of programme delivery
- Providing regular management information on programme performance and key information to key stakeholders and the Programme steering board
- Ensuring all commercial relationships deliver outstanding value
- Reviewing and approving project business cases
- Supporting Project Teams to resolve complex or escalated stakeholder issues as required.

**Who you are**

You’ll need to be degree level qualified and a Chartered Professional in a relevant field. Senior leadership experience in complex organisations, managing significant risk, engaging others in vision, collaborative working and change management are all key assets you’ll need to succeed. You’ll demonstrate project/programme management experience, with evidence of managing successful multi-disciplined large scale/major investment programmes. Experience managing internal (including international) and external stakeholders at a senior level is key, alongside a strong commercial acumen and the confidence and capability for clear, effective and transparent decision making. You should be comfortable with dealing with ambiguity, a technical problem solver and an expert level understanding of business planning and in-year investment processes. You’ll need to have proven influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to successfully operate at a strategic and operational level.

Although not mandatory, nuclear power station technical delivery experience would be preferable, alongside experience of working with trade unions. Thorough knowledge of business case development and the business case process_ _would be advantageous, with an understanding and experience managing projects and programmes through EDF and nuclear assurance processes. It would be desirable for you told experience as an industry leader within Nuclear Delivery and as such be up to date with industry developments and market forces.
