Senior Account Executive

The Role
To lead the Cyber & Technology Solutions’ Technical Support team, ensuring the necessary support is provided for all business in accordance with Company and/or Group policy and procedures to deliver an effective, timely, technically accurate and profitable service to achieve targets, meet service standards and develop the business. The job holder is regarded as being the key contact for the team on all operational/technical matters and acts as an interface between the department and central support services. The job holder will frequently interact with the Executive and Divisional Directors to ensure that both Howden Group and specific team strategies and operational initiatives are implemented effectively. They will have four direct reports to manage.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
Planning/Reporting:
- Works with mínimal guidance to organise own work activities (and that of the support team’s) to ensure that personal and Team objectives are achieved- Participates in team meetings as required, reporting on business progress within their area of expertise- Provides input to team meetings to ensure appropriate information is considered, observations from the market are shared and client issues resolved- Manages assigned projects and contributes to other projects as required- Provides relevant management information to senior managers- May support research activity to assist the development of new products and wordings- Assists in monitoring renewal and new business activity to aid effective planning and resourcing
Technical:
- Preparation and thorough review of client documentation to ensure that information presented is sufficiently comprehensive/accurate to support the quoting and placement process- Must be highly experienced with the Market Reform Contract format, use of PPL and general London insurance market processing and operational practices- Liaises with clients and ensures client technical and administrative queries are resolved- Responds to market and third party queries as appropriate- Has knowledge and is aware of, and satisfies, territory, tax and legislation requirements- Produces high quality and compliant market documentation ensuring appropriate authorisations are secured-
- Liaises with processing technicians and IBA as required- Ensures up to date records are maintained at all times on the Company systems and any e-trading platforms
Policy, Process and Procedures:
- Works within agreed parameters and uses relevant systems to ensure documentation/communications adhere to company procedure/compliance requirements and provide an adequate audit trail- Processes data promptly and accurately on relevant systems in order to support and improve high levels of client service/internal process execution and to facilitate informed analysis- Maintains appropriate client files, and oversees the prompt and accurate production of documentation to best meet client, company and regulatory requirements- Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures and obtain necessary authorisations at appropriate points in the process (for themselves and direct reports).- Ensures appropriate due diligence/sanctions checks are conducted in line with company procedures
Skills and abilities needed to perform role- Numerate and literate- Is confident and has good communication skills including, written, verbal and face to face- Able to work independently and use initiative- Able to build sustainable working relationships- Analytical- Good decision making skills- Able to work flexibly to achieve tight deadlines/targets- Professional and personable- Able to positively react to change- Resilient and calm under pressure- An ability to learn and share learning- Competent IT skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel
Knowledge and Experience- Experience of working in a similar or related role- Understands general and legal principles of insurance- Understands the relevant regulatory and legal frameworks- Knowledge of the insurance market including an awareness of competitors, specific territory knowledge, cultural awareness- Relevant product(s) knowledge is not necessary but would be beneficial- Good understanding of Team objectives and how own role contributes to these.- Specific systems’ knowledge relevant to role.- Some experience of training/coaching others desirable- Experience
