Clockwork is one of the leading removals and storage companies in the UK, specialising in both residential and commercial removals and storage, both in the UK and abroad.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic standalone HR Generalist to join a vibrant team at Clockwork Removals in Edinburgh. This role will incorporate all aspects of Clockwork group's HR function including recruitment, training, company policy, HR strategy and staff wellbeing.

**The Role**

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, your main duties will include but not be limited to:

- Provide an operational HR service to the Clockwork Group and its semi-autonomous business units
- Advise senior management team on appropriate HR strategy and process
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with staff at all levels across the business in order that HR matters are discussed and actioned proactively
- Lead the group’s recruitment process as required
- Ensure all group policies are effective, up to date and compliant with current legislation, develop new policies where required
- Lead and facilitate all the group’s training requirements
- Ensure group compliance with relevant employment law on an ongoing basis
- Lead and oversee performance management processes such as employee appraisals to improve performance and promote development
- HR administration including maintenance of the HR filing system
- Other relevant tasks as required

- Takes pride in their accuracy and attention to detail, whilst also being able to step back from the detail to see the bigger picture.
- An ability to build relationships with people at all levels throughout the business and display resilience in challenging situations.
- Effectively interacts with full range of Managers and Directors to provide proactive and reactive human resources support and therefore must have considerable presence / gravitas.
- Previous experience in a similar role within an SME.
- Previous experience in a similar industry would be highly advantageous.
- Education to degree level (or equivalent).
- Holds a valid membership of The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
- Effective knowledge of general employment legislation (EU, UK, and Scottish), current case-law precedents, and acknowledged HR “best practice”.
- Specialist knowledge and experience of managing acquisitions, TUPE transfers, disciplinary proceedings, restructurings and redundancies.
- Confidence in working with computers, Microsoft Office proficiency (particularly Excel and Word), and willingness to learn new skills are all essential.
- You should be able to demonstrate that you are punctual, organised and can work to tight deadlines. You should take pride in your appearance and your work, and be a confident communicator.

A full UK clean driving licence and access to your own transport would be an advantage, as some limited travel around the UK may be required from time to time.
