**Office Assistant / Digital Printer**

Initially to provide printing support and assistance in a busy office and craft workshop environment. Once trained, you will be working unsupervised. Hourly rate is the starting rate but once fully trained and able to work totally unsupervised, this will be increased.

**What you’ll be doing**
- Prioritising & printing orders via Photoshop & Fiery.
- Working with an Excel spreadsheet to manage orders (you will not be required to create formulas, simply understand what they are and be able to work competently on a spreadsheet without removing existing formats).
- Working with Photoshop as we use a lot of actions for various print jobs (you will not be required to perform complicated edits, but must be comfortable finding your way around and understanding layers, fonts, file types, and printing).
- Working to time constraints, occasionally under pressure.
- Cutting, counting, and managing all orders before they go to be packed. Attention to detail is vital so that you pick up on printer problems before products can be dispatched.
- Planning each day and ensuring other team members know what to do each shift and understand what needs to be prioritised.
- Working alone (preparing print jobs for the day) and as part of a small team
- Opening and closing the office; maintaining equipment.
- Setting up the cutter with barcodes and measurements.
- Manage the franking machine and understand different postage types.
- Manage the printer, restocking card, paper, and envelopes as needed.
- Keep the office clean and tidy, organise the recycling collection.
- Secure the office at the end of each day with all equipment locked/turned off.
- Once fully trained, there will be scope for more hours.

- More than competent using an iMac computer and understanding filing systems, file types, and shortcuts.
- Comfortable using Photoshop, MS Excel, MS Word. Any experience with Fiery is a bonus.
- Polite and able to assist customers and take the stress out of creating their event stationery.

We are looking for a capable, friendly individual who will enjoy working with us and fit in well with our very small team.

You will take pride in your work, be able to work to a high standard, and understand that our customers expect an excellent service. You will be able to support other team members as you will be organising the day’s workload and ultimately it will be your responsibility to organise their workload and get things done on time.

You will be someone who is tidy and organised and able to work efficiently to time constraints. You will need to be able to remain calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines that can change at a moment’s notice.

Ideally you will also have an interest in art and crafts. Fiery and digital printing experience, although not a requirement, would be of a huge advantage.

**Where you’ll work**

All office work is undertaken on 2 floor levels in our light, airy premises in Blackminster. There is no heavy lifting involved. All materials are provided and any training, outside the basic skills required, will be given.

**Who are we?**

We are a small family business of 2 with 2 additional self-employed individuals. We design and produce customised wedding stationery in the main and our emphasis is on quality and customer service. We absolutely love what we do and it varies and changes all the time so never gets boring.

**Pay/Salary**

Initially you will be paid an hourly, self-employed rate, beginning at £12.00 an hour as you learn about our products, the work process, and the printing equipment. This will be reviewed and adjusted as you gain skills and prove yourself competent. Once you are able to work totally unsupervised, pay and hours can be renegotiated. Ultimately, we want someone who is able to take over the day to day running of the office for at least 2 days a week.

Training someone new for this position requires a lot of time and effort on our part which is why you will start out on the lower hourly rate.
