Healthcare Assistant / Phlebotomist

**Overview**:

- **Key Responsibilities**:_
- Phlebotomy Services:_
- Perform venepuncture and collect blood samples from patients following established protocols.
- Ensure proper labeling and handling of specimens.
- Maintain accurate records of blood draws and submit samples to the laboratory promptly.
- Patient Care:_
- Assist with patient assessments, including recording vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates).
- Provide support during minor surgical procedures and dressings.
- Assist with routine health checks and screenings, such as ECGs and spirometry.
- Clinical Support:_
- Prepare and maintain clinical areas, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to infection control protocols.
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and treatments.
- Provide basic wound care and first aid.
- Administrative Duties:_
- Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the practice.
- Assist with the preparation of medical reports and correspondence.
- Health Promotion:_
- Provide patients with information on health management, disease prevention, and lifestyle choices.
- Support initiatives to improve patient adherence to treatment plans.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Essential:_
- Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant and/or Phlebotomist.
- Competence in venepuncture and blood sample collection.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 37.5 per week
