Job Purpose:
The Litigation Assistant is responsive for effective file handling and client care in pursuing a claim
for compensation on the Client's behalf.
Primary Duties:
Working under the guidance of a senior litigator to complete the following.
- Preparing claims for interlocutory hearings including the preparation of CCMC bundles
- Instructing Counsel and liaising with Counsel post hearing
- Instructing Costs draftsmen
- Complying with directions
- Drafting Witness statements
- Sending, checking and submitting Fee Remission Forms
- Calculating and making Part 36 offers
- Liaising with the defendants
- Providing clients with updates on the status of their claim
- Reviewing Part 35 reports and assessing and re-reviewing prospects of success.
- To review incoming information and establish the claim route.
- Establish at the earliest opportunity an entity who a claim can be brought against
- Checking all compliance requirements were on the file e.g., Deadlines, AML evidence, Terms of Business
- Request all relevant information from the relevant parties as soon as identified.

Attributes & Competencies Required:

- Organisational and prioritising skills are also essential to meet the demands of challenging internal and external clients.
- Good teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels are essential.
