We’ve got an exciting opportunity for a Contracts and Performance Officer to join our brilliant new Strategic Housing Service whose ambition is to deliver on the aims set out in our housing strategies and the promises we make to our customers. **About the role.**

Gateshead’s Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy sets out that homelessness should be a rare occurrence, that where it does happen - there will be positive outcomes for people, that we want no-one sleeping rough or in unsuitable accommodation and that homelessness should be a one-off occurrence.

This post will play a huge role in helping us to deliver upon these key strategic aims through improved contract and performance monitoring of our accommodation and support services, across the borough, to ensure high quality provision, that offers value for money.

The postholder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes Supported Housing Inspection Officers as well as Housing Benefit Expertise, to ensure a joined-up approach to improving supported accommodation across the borough - as part of our successful funding bid from the Supported Housing Improvement Programme. We also have an exciting Homelessness and Allocations Project underway which will see the creation of a new ‘Gateway’ being developed for accessing Homelessness Accommodation and Support, ensuring a more joined up and effective approach for our customers.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working in a customer focused environment, has provided effective contract/performance management, has undertaken reviews of service provision and produced related reports and has developed documents/systems and processes to support contract/performance management. The successful applicant will also need to have good verbal and written communication skills, numerical/IT skills, analytical skills and experience of managing budgets. Essential qualifications are - GCSE Maths or English at Grade C/Level 5 or above and 2 A Levels or equivalent qualification
