Income Officer

A fantastic new opportunity working as a full time Income Officer based in Oldham. The 12-month fixed term contract is paying between £24,000 and £25,000. This role is based on site.
**Client Details**
My client provides quality homes and support services within the community, supporting the most vulnerable. They provide support services to tenants by giving appropriate advice and assistance to live independently.
**Description**
**The key responsibilities of an Income Officer will include, but may not be limited to;**
- Respond to the needs of tenants, as well as collecting rental income
- Negotiate repayment agreements
- Work alongside the Housing Support team to ensure appropriate debt counselling, income maximisation and budgeting advice
- Monitor all repayment arrangements and ensure payment plans remain on track
- Update and maintain systems, ensuring they are accurate and processed on time
- Encourage customers to take responsibility for their Housing benefit or Universal Credit Claims
- Work closely with external stakeholders and housing support workers to maximise income
- Follow the Income Collection Procedure, ensuring that cases are escalated appropriately.
- Recover outstanding debt were necessary
- Proactively work to reduce tenant arrears
**Profile**
- Background in Housing
- A proven ability in IT systems with MS Office skills including Excel
- Able to provide excellent customer service
- Ability to support high volumes of requests
- To deal with queries and provide solutions
- Understanding of welfare and benefits system
- Good verbal and numerical skills
- Resilient and able to work under pressure
- To have flexibility with your work and to meet deadlines
- Able to work independently on tasks
- Understanding of housing law
