**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To line manage and motivate the box office team in order to maximise sales and ensure high standards of customer service;
- To lead on all aspects of ticketing and related sales in liaison with the Sales and Marketing Director;
- To work closely with the marketing and communication teamto positively and pro-actively promote the Centre;
- To be responsible for all box office cash handling, administration and banking.

**JOB DESCRIPTION - SPECIFIC**

**Strategy**
- Contribute as required to the achievement of the objectives and targets.
- Pro-actively lead on developing and maintaining policy and procedures for the box office team.

**Operational**
- Recruit, motivate, inspire, train, supervise, and line manage the venue-based ticketing team, and ensure the box office is adequately staffed in line with business needs.
- Manage all administrative ticketing processes to ensure events are put on sale in a timely manner and with accuracy, including liaison with producers, event promoters, hirers and external agencies.
- Be pro-active in identifying improvements to processes, ensuring excellence in customer service standards and proficiency in the use of the computerised ticketing system
- Communicate effectively with the Sales and Marketing Directorto identify solutions to issues or feedback from the box office team and general public, liaising with colleagues in other departments as appropriate.
- Ensure the box office team is kept up-to-date with changes to policies, procedures and show-related information through regular and effective communication.
- Maximise sales revenues through the efficient and effective sale of tickets and through the on-selling and upselling of memberships, hospitality offers and events and other items as required.
- Establish and maintain an efficient service for all group and school bookings.
- Manage ticket requests from visiting companies, charities, promotions and the membership schemeas well as staff according to the venue’s complimentary ticket policy.
- Take responsibility for the creation and distribution of accurate and consistent ticketing and sales reports for internal and external use in appropriate formats.
- In liaison with colleagues, take responsibility for the effective management of the ticketing database and undertake routine housekeeping of the ticking system.
- Contribute to the creation of box office processesand thesetting of sales targets.

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Experience managing or training a customer service team;
- Using a reservarions system or point of sale or ticketing system;
- Cash handling, banking and reconciliation;
- Managing budgets;
- Meeting/monitoring targets;
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office: word, excel, outlook and the internet)
- Experience working in an entertainment venue;
- Excellent customer service skills.
