The Institute of Student Employers (ISE) is recruiting a Marketing & Communications Officer: someone who has a flair for communication and loves to find the right words for the right audience; someone who can dive into analytics and adopt a continuous improvement approach to their work; and someone who is responsive, proactive and creative. You will already have B2B marketing and communications experience and will be keen to use your skills to take our established organisation to the next level.

**Background to the role**

ISE’s team is small but perfectly formed. Our approach in 2023 and beyond is focused on member growth and engagement, and we need a person in the team who will lead on marketing and communications to attract new members and keep them with us. This role will contribute directly to the overall success of the organisation.

**The role**

Reporting to the Joint CEO - Membership & Operations this role will ensure that our member-facing products and services are promoted across a range of ISE-owned digital and social channels. It’s an interesting, fast-paced and hands-on role with real scope to develop analytics-based decision-making, and so will appeal to someone equally comfortable with words and numbers. ISE is a small, not-for-profit organisation and responsibilities include both operational activities as well as creative thinking and planning.

**Core activities to deliver**
- Produce and implement marketing and communications plans and campaigns to support ISE’s growth and retention targets.
- Take ownership of ISE’s output across all channels, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistently high quality.
- Produce a range of creative content in a variety of digital formats following brand guidelines and supporting business plans.
- Lead on the ongoing development of ISE’s website, uploading content and updating pages with appropriate SEO to ensure the site is dynamic and engaging.
- Manage ISE’s social channels and actively input into an evolving strategy. Create original and engaging social media posts and reactively engage with our audiences.
- Evaluate the success of marketing and communication activities based on agreed targets and measures, disseminating findings to colleagues to measure impact and for future improvement.

**Knowledge, skills and abilities required**
- Experience of creating marketing and communication plans.
- Ability to segment audiences and develop personas.
- Experience of using content management systems.
- Current knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics.
- Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to tailor copy to specific audiences.
- Excellent organisational skills, with an ability to handle a diverse workload in a responsive manner.
- Experience in editing digital assets in line with brand guidelines - expertise in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Adobe Audition would be a bonus.
