**Head of Test Management Office (TMO) **(Grade: B)
KPMG are looking to recruit a senior individual who will lead a Test Management Office (TMO) as part of KPMG’s internal Testing Capability, providing testing services for a portfolio of exciting projects as well as support of continuous releases to production systems.
Reporting to the KPMG Head of Test, you will not only help to develop KPMG’s internal Testing Capability but will also lead a team managing Practice Development, Test Governance & Assurance, and Test Operations. You will be responsible for defining and developing testing standards, ensuring adherence to standards, and managing demand for testing services.
This role will cover internal change delivery and releases but will also work with our external client-facing Quality Engineering & Testing Services Practice to ensure alignment to industry best practice and standards, and the adoption of new and emerging skills, tools, and methods.
**The Role**
- Ongoing ownership and management of the TMO function to support internal project delivery.
- Managing a team providing leadership, and coaching to ensure excellent delivery, whilst enabling future development.
- Ensure good practice in the delivery of testing services and the production of testing deliverables, with adherence to the KPMG UK Quality Engineering (QE) & Testing Standard, and alignment to the governance and assurance framework.
- Working collaboratively with other teams and stakeholders to support and deliver testing services.
- Driving a culture of continual process improvement, to enhance quality and expand service offerings.
- Ensuring that demand for testing and Quality Assurance (QA) services is managed, with appropriate forecasting and planning.
- Delivery of key reporting, to include testing & QA metrics, and Key Performance Indicators.
**The Person**
- A highly experienced testing professional, with experience of test delivery and oversight roles
- Highly capable people manager, adept at building and coaching a team of professionals with the right mix of grades, skills, and experience to support delivery and project growth; you will be able to motivate people, build a ‘learn it all’ rather than a ‘know it all’ culture, and foster an environment in which everyone’s opinion is valued.
- Ability to develop and implement a test Governance and Assurance Framework to ensure the correct Quality Assurance and Quality Controls are in place to ensure effective, efficient testing across the project portfolio.
- Ownership of testing processes, strategy, approach, execution reporting, closure, and assurance on testing.
- Ensures testing activities are performed in accordance with established policies, processes, and procedures with a consistent approach for reporting and escalation.
- Identifies and implements continuous improvements to testing and QA process, methods, tools, and standards.
- Reviews identified issues, gains agreement on planned actions and provides strategic remediation paths for resolution, to support successful project delivery.
- Provides relevant metrics and dashboard reporting across the Testing Capability to senior stakeholders and represents the overall testing position in various senior forums.
- Managing risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies and escalating to senior stakeholders where required.
- Manages Test Operations and Demand Management by facilitating resource allocation for the Testing Capability’s activities, proactively monitoring, and flexing the resource profile to scale to demand.
- Collaborating with the Quality Engineering & Testing Services Practice to share good practice, tools, technologies and innovation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence C-suite executives and others, to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Solid problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyse complex data, identify core issues, and investigate, evaluate, and reach appropriate conclusions.
- Excellent knowledge of the software testing and QA lifecycle, including knowledge and experience of manual, automated, functional, non-functional, and technical testing; ideally ISEB/ISTQB qualified.
- Good understanding of test management tools, such as ALM, JIRA, Zephyr, and Azure DevOps.
- Broad range of tech experience, covering platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, ServiceNow, and Microsoft D365.
