The Yorkshire Agricultural Society, best known for the Great Yorkshire Show, is a registered charity with a history going back to 1837. It invests over half a million pounds a year supporting and promoting the agricultural industry in numerous ways from championing the role of farmers, to education, to agricultural research and the protection and sustainability of the environment.

**Purpose of the Role**

This role will provide administrative support to the Livestock & Entries Department. The Livestock & Entries Officer will have an excellent knowledge of IT in an office environment, some agricultural knowledge would be helpful but NOT mandatory.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Maintaining the Stewards databases; using Filemaker - training will be given on this system
- Administration for the Stewards; this may involve liaising with the chairman of relevant sections.
- Assisting with all administrative related duties for the Livestock & Entries Department; this will involve photocopying, preparing for schedule, making booklets, labelling, stuffing envelopes, franking etc., answering telephone calls from exhibitors and the general public, data entry, proof reading, sending out tickets, etc.,
- Responsibility of sending the packs for the Stewards prior to the Shows.
- Organising Committee Meetings; these are held in the Autumn and will involve minute taking.

**General Responsibilities**

**Experience & Qualifications**
- Previous experience in an administrative position essential.
- Computer literate - Excel, Word, PDF (writer & reader) to advanced level.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Software Suite.
