Rota: Flexible zero hours contract. This is a 24-hour service so night shifts and day shifts are available.

**ABOUT THE SERVICE**

Equinox Lewisham provides supported housing and assertive outreach services for adults with mental health support needs. Many clients have secondary needs, including forensic history, substance misuse or history of homelessness. We aim to assist and empower our clients to enable them to move on to greater independence.

We encourage clients to develop coping strategies and supportive relationships to empower them to maintain their mental health. We also work with our service users to be a part of the wider community through volunteering, education or social placements. The main aim is for our service users to lead more fulfilling lives.

Ideally you will have experience working with service users promoting diversity, dignity and equality and always ready to join in or undertake a number of tasks that will help the team create an engaging environment for our service users. **OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Our Bank Recovery Support Workers provide practical support to service users and be responsible for supporting service users to achieve their goals set in their recovery plan. They work intensively with service users when they are able to work towards recovery and coordinate pathways to more appropriate accommodation.

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position.

**KEY CRITERIA**

What we would like, but not essential:
**Skills Required**:

- QCF/NVQ qualification or equivalent or will to work towards this
- Willingness to learn about the principles of Key working, support planning, and risk assessment
- Basic Understanding of mental health issues and Care Program Approach.
- Willingness to learn about recovery focused service provision / person centred approach for people with mental issues.
- Understanding of the connection between substance misuse and mental health
- Understanding of the importance to support Service Users with their Medication and to move towards self-medication.
- Willingness to learn about regulatory frameworks for social care.
- Basic report writing,
- Good literacy and ICT skills
