The role will provide, rapid, specialist support for development and maintenance of Radiology clinical systems and problem resolution.
This important role will also deputise for the Radiology Clinical Systems Manager, further developing the Trust’s Electronic Patient Record (EPR) and Radiology Clinical Systems along with undertaking comprehensive testing of new configurations.
Its not a requirement to have an IT/technical background. The team takes staff from across the Hospital and beyond, from Clerical and Clinical roles.
We are looking for;
- Previous experience of using IT clinical systems and a good working

knowledge of the Acute Hospital environment.
- Experience of managing changes or enhancements to systems (from a user perspective)

knowledge of the systems throughout the Trust.

Promote and maintain required standards of data held on the Radiology Clinical Systems and effect change to working practices within Radiology.
Undertake design and configuration of the EPR/ Radiology Clinical Systems to support safe, effective patient care.
Delivery, maintenance and support of the clinical systems and hardware including the EPR/RIS/PACS. This includes provision of results and documents review, recording of patient clinical information, clinical noting and electronic test and intervention requesting. In addition, the provision of clinical decision support and operational patient reports.
Undertake testing and evaluation of products/solutions within Radiology prior to deployment.
Provide expert advice, opinion and design guidance on issues of Radiology Clinical Systems design and deployment of advanced clinical information systems using design sessions, presentations and workshops, both verbal and written media. Target audiences will include all levels of clinical and administrative staff and members of the EPR/Radiology Clinical Systems team.
Responsible for escalating issues which are beyond the control of the post holder to the Radiology Clinical Systems Manager, Radiology Business Performance Manager, Radiology Services Manager and when required, external parties.
To interrogate the Radiology Clinical Systems to provide statistical information for use in departmental audits, financial returns, trust activity information and any required reporting by Radiology.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and to Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The Trust works collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. Its services are provided from three locations:
**The Countess of Chester Hospital**: providing 438 general and acute beds

**Ellesmere Port Hospital**: providing 56 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility

**Tarporley War Memorial Hospital**: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.

The Trust employs over 6258 staff (headcount) which includes temporary bank staff and provides acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000. This includes 357,000 residents in Chester and West Cheshire which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire which has a population of approximately 50,000.

The Trust is a busy district general hospital and in 2022/2023, there were more than 503,342 patient attendances (inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic) ranging from a simple outpatient appointment to major cancer surgery. This is an increase of nearly 10,000 compared to the previous year when there were 494,387 patient attendances.
