Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner (Middlesbrough PCN Therapy Team)

25 hours per week

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join the Middlesbrough PCN Therapy Team. This post would suit an experienced band 3 assistant looking to progress to band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner

The team consists of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Assistant Practitioners and Therapy Assistants. The team has gone through a period of change and is now building links with the three PCN’s in the Middlesbrough locality. It is an exciting time to work for this team as we continue to improve our service to meet the needs of our population. We recently achieved a Diamond award in the South Tees Accreditation of Quality of Care (STAQC) which shows the teams commitment to high quality patient care and rehabilitation.
- To undertake highly skilled work, support the Allied Health Professionals (AHP) in providing an effective and efficient community rehabilitation service within the framework of clinical governance.
- To work under supervision and independently in order to facilitate effective treatment of patients within the service.
- To carry out basic assessments of non-complex patients as delegated by the AHP.
- To accept patients delegated by a therapist and be responsible for the delivery of patient care. To use clinical judgement and freedom, within the scope of practice and be able to work independently and flexibly without direct supervision but to receive access to regular supervision from a Registered AHP.

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the leadership development programme, and the Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. This programme aims to:

- Explore leadership within the NHS
- Promote Trust Values and Behaviours
- Develop your Leadership effectiveness and skills
- Practitioner level in quality improvement, equipping you with the skills to champion, lead and complete quality improvement within your role

After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7
