Set up in 1979, Roshni Birmingham is a leading provider supporting Black and Minoritised communities through their journey to safety, confidence, and independence to live free from violence, abuse and fear.

An Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) Certificate will be required for the role.

**Job Title**: Referrals & Assessment Worker

**Salary**: £24,000 per annum

**Working Hours**: Full-time (37.5 hours)

**Essential**:Ability to speak one South Asian Language

**Location**:West Midlands

The Referrals & Assessment Worker is responsible for receiving, assessing, and processing referrals for Roshni services that support victims of domestic abuse, forced marriage, and other forms of violence against women.

The Referrals & Assessment Worker will provide a non-judgmental, rapid response support service for survivors of domestic abuse at the initial stages of their support journey. To provide a triage response upon receipt of referral, promptly engaging with the survivor to assess the risk, need and priority, and identifying further support pathways. The worker will support across multiple projects and will need to work in partnership to ensure that the post is effective and efficient in delivery. The worker will make immediate contact with urgent referrals and non-urgent within 48-hours of allocation and establish their support needs. This will include providing telephone support, establishing a safety plan and referring/signposting to other relevant support services if necessary.

**Key Duties**

Receive and assess referrals, prioritising high-risk cases and completing thorough risk assessments.

Provide initial safety planning, advice, and guidance to agencies supporting victims.

Manage case files, waiting lists, and data entry into case management systems.

Make prompt decisions on suitable referrals for refuge/shelter spaces.

Act as point of contact for victims awaiting services, providing weekly check-ins

Liaise with internal/external agencies to gather information for processing referrals.

Arrange move-ins for new residents at the refuge.

Conduct quality assurance on all referrals.

Support the 24-hour helpline when required.

Allocate referrals to Support/Outreach Workers.

Promote service user participation and engagement.

**Additional Responsibilities**

Manage refuge spaces and administration of housing benefits/service charges.

Ensure quality standards, performance metrics, and funder reporting requirements are met.

Build and maintain effective partnerships with external agencies and working groups.

Provide staff supervision, training, performance management, and scheduling.

Handle advocacy casework, risk assessments, safety planning, and group activities.

Maintain accurate records and data for reporting purposes.

Uphold organisational policies, attend training, and participate in staff meetings.

**Salary**: £24,000.00 per year
