Due to the promotion of the existing post holder an exciting opportunity has arisen within the PACS Team at the University Hospitals of North Midlands for an enthusiastic and energetic individual
with a natural curiosity / desire to learn, excellent broad IT knowledge and experience of delivering a quality service in a fast paced environment.

You will be working in a specialist IT department within one of the busiest Imaging Services in the country at a time of high investment in Radiology IT. A number of complex and organisationally important projects will provide the successful applicant the ideal opportunity to develop their knowledge, get involved and make a real difference; ultimately delivering benefits to clinicians and patients.

The role is to be one of two senior members of the PACS Team who support the PACS Manager in delivering a high quality service for Imaging specific IT systems and solutions to the Trust and wider health economy (including but not limited to Royal Stoke, County Hospital, Leek Moorlands Hospital & Longton Cottage Hospital).

Work closely with the PACS Manager the post holder will be responsible for the operational management of Imaging Systems & the PACS Team in PACS Manager’s absence.

Providing technical advice and support to the PACS / RIS Officers, leading on troubleshooting and resolution of complex issues and management of P1 downtime. Acting as lead on specific projects and service developments, under the guidance of the PACS Manager.

Be an “expert” on IT & all Imaging Systems supported & administered by PACS Team, supporting Imaging Directorate & the wider Trust, providing advice & guidance on a range of facts/situations requiring analysis, interpretation & comparison of options.

Assist PACS Manager in the planning & organisation of a broad range of complex activities, formulate & adjust plans or strategies for the Trust-wide PACS environment.

Work closely with IM&T colleagues in other departments to understand the relationship between Imaging IT systems & other major IT systems in the Trust.

Participate in an on-call rota with the other members of PACS Team (once implemented).

Although the main base is Royal Stoke University Hospital the post holder will also need to rotate County Hospital and will participate in a home working rota
