We currently have 3 vacant Flight Line Operations Supervisor (FLOS) roles within the Operations Department at RAF Valley.

As part of the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS) we supply and maintain Aircraft to support military pilot training pipeline. You would be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of Ground Operations in support of the Daily Flying Programme (DFP) through the allocation of Aircraft and personnel. Liaising with our partners and customers to ensure efficient use of assets.

**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Allocation of serviceable aircraft to the Daily Flying Programme (DFP) using TMIS (Ascent Training Management Information System), monitoring and updating to reflect fuel status & aircraft readiness.
- Communicate effectively to the Ground Handling Team, Aircraft priorities, fuel loads and other Aircraft requirements.
- Effective communication with client operations, Pt 145 engineering, ATC (air traffic control) and aircrew in support of the customer requirement.
- Entry of relevant sortie/aircraft information onto NGen (Affinity Maintenance Management System).
- Managing Aircraft usage to help plan Aircraft maintenance in co-ordination with the Maintenance Planning Department.
- Liaise with Pt 145 to ensure any aircraft unserviceability’s are reported expediently and to ensure serviceable aircraft are returned to Operations as soon as available.
- Liaise closely with the Transport Department to ensure adequate refuelling cover.
- Detailed recording of relevant sortie information in support of the Commercial department.
- Provide cover for Valley operations desk on rotation and in support of leave/sick absence.
- Provide ground handling support on rotation and in support of leave/sick absence.
- Lead the ground operations team to accomplish daily tasks as required. This is achieved through appropriate and timely allocation of tasks, ensuring all team members are aware of any changes to the DFP and ensuring that changes are achievable within the scope of the maximum planning demand.
- Maintain an electronic aircraft state and location board by updating all relevant information on to NGen.
- Line management of ground operations staff, including the delivery of appraisals, escalating sickness/absences to the Operations Manager and locally managing personnel to ensure adequate handler cover to be able to achieve the DFP.
- Local management of ground operations training requirements. Ensuring team members have the appropriate competencies to carry out the tasks required.
- Keep abreast of and brief as required on safety notices, SMIBs (Safety & Maintenance Information Bulletin), OSIBs (Operations Safety Information Bulletins) weather warnings, station announcements.
- Promote and endorse a positive Equality, Quality, and Health & safety culture. Ensuring appropriate safety behaviours are demonstrated and maintained at all times.

**Essential Experience**
- Appropriate recent practical experience in Military/Civilian Aircraft operations role.
- Experience in managing and being responsible for a team in a safety critical environment.
- Proficiency in use of common software packages including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Power BI, Microsoft Project.

**Desirable Experience**
- Aircraft Ground Handling experience (Aircraft marshalling/towing/refuelling).
- Operation of handheld radio (SMRE) and correct use of Aviation radio procedures.

**Essential Qualifications**
- Full UK driver’s licence
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance
- Maths and English (GCSE 5-9/A-C equivalent).

**Desirable Qualifications**
- Recognised Human Factors training.
