Company Secretarial Board Support - Salary £45,000 - £55,000

Aviva are currently recruiting for a Company Secretarial Board Support, who can work with the Aviva UK Insurance Company Secretarial team by delivering high quality, timely and cost-effective company secretarial and corporate governance support to the General Insurance Board.

A bit about the job:
The Company Secretarial function is a core Aviva team providing high quality company secretarial support and advice to the Aviva plc board and board committees, subsidiary boards and committees, associate boards, and senior management and to the Aviva group as a whole in addition to managing the relationship with the Group’s retail shareholders and administering executive and all employee share schemes.

The function is also responsible for compliance with applicable corporate law and regulation, and for setting, implementing, and enforcing governance and best practice policies and procedures throughout the Group.

This role is focussed on the delivery of a first-class support service to the Directors of the General Insurance Board, most notably the Independent Non-Executives with whom there will be daily contact. Taking ownership of the annual board meeting cycle and all aspects of the facilitation / scheduling of such, working closely with the Board and Committee Company secretaries and the Chair.

You will be working closely with your leader and the wider company secretarial and legal community, other internal functions such as Risk and Compliance, and with external advisers.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

- Previous company secretarial or boardroom support experience, including board pack and agenda preparation.
- Strong Stakeholder Engagement experience, partnered with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of company law and administration and corporate governance preferred. Financial Services experience would also be advantageous.
- Self -motivated and organised, with the ability to work autonomously and in an agile way.
- Computer literacy - Diligent Board Books knowledge would be desirable.

- Starting salary between £45,000 and £55,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
