Healthcare Assistant

This is a really varied and wide-ranging role - it has everything from supporting nurses, midwives and the wider clinic teams in the coordination of treatments to patients while making sure they can have the best possible experience they can receive.
You’ll talk to patients and support them throughout their treatment journey, provide them with information, resolving any queries or problems. You’ll provide emotional support to them using empathy and understanding, and if you need to, signpost them to our counselling support services.
You’ll support patients’ consultations with general healthcare duties such as taking their height, weight and blood pressure. You’ll support the nursing team with preparing the Procedure Room, assisting with procedures, taking post-operation observations and also chaperoning the Consultants for procedures such as ultrasound scans
There is the potential of personal development in this role with training provided for cannulation and also assisting in theatre.
About you:
You’re a Healthcare Assistant in a hospital setting or fertility clinic, with an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care. You’re also a team player with a desire for continuous personal and professional development.
Excellent communication is required as you’ll be dealing with people from all backgrounds, making in and outbound calls where needed, delivering a high-quality patient experience - you’re acting as a CRGW/Care Fertility ambassador in all of your interactions.
Strong administration skills, with great attention to detail is needed as you’ll need to accurately input data, find information on the clinical patient database and follow the system pathways to ensure patient record are accurate.

Location/Benefits:
Working on a rota from either 08:00-16:00 or 08:30-16:30 Mon to Fri (with 1 in 3 weekends)
Based at our clinic at Rhodfa Marics, Llantrisant CF72 8XL, however you may occasionally be required to support our Bristol (BS32 4JT) or Swansea (SA4 9HJ) clinics due to operational needs. If you drive, we have free onsite parking.
