We have an exciting opportunity in our **Llantrisant** Dialysis Unit for an ambitious, patient focused Healthcare Assistant looking for a rewarding career in healthcare with opportunities for professional development.
This is a physically demanding role in a fast-paced environment.
Llantrisant Dialysis Unit is a dynamic 21 station unit providing haemodialysis treatment for 84 patients in partnership with the NHS Trust. The unit operates safe staffing with a protected 3:1 patient to nurse ratio.

**Your main responsibilities will be**:
- To provide general assistance to nursing staff with patient care in the treatment room
- To liaise with transport and other departments in order to arrange appointments
- To support the unit routine, by escorting patients to the wards, blood specimens and pharmacy errands
- To prepare and serve patients with refreshments
- To prepare a safe water treatment supply
- Preparation of the clinical area
- To maintain stocks and supplies within the treatment areas
- To undertake housekeeping duties
**What you’ll need to succeed**:
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn
- Good communication skills
- Numerical and literacy skills
- To be able to demonstrate empathy and sympathy
- Adaptable
- Self-motivated
- Flexible to cover the needs of the patients/unit
- To demonstrate a willingness to learn
- NVQ qualified (Health & Social Care) - Desirable
**Hours of work**:
- Full time role working 37.5 hours per week
- 3 x 11.5 hour shifts per week plus an additional top up shift every month
- Long Day = 06:30 - 18:00
- Monday to Saturday on a rota’d shift system, No Sunday or night shifts
- We expect staff to work flexibly and work shifts depending on the need of the business
