The Performance and Commissions team sits within the UK Exports Directorate of DGET (Director-General Exports and Trade). Split into the Planning and Performance team and the Briefings and Commissions team, the Planning and Performance team is responsible for building and maintaining a performance, planning and commissions system for DGET which underpins decision-making and resource allocation. The team also works on maximising departmental performance and evidencing the critical contribution of exports (and DGET’s contribution) to the UK economy.

The role of the Project Officer is an integral part of the Planning and Performance team. Duties encompass reporting on DGET performance metrics, assisting and supporting the DGET Business Planning and Spending Review annual process, and supporting governmental and ministerial priorities that are assigned to DGET.

You will be required to support ad hoc requests from within the Planning and Commissions team and from wider DGET teams, planning and prioritising your and your team’s work as required.

**Job description**

You will be responsible for:

- **Governance**: act as Secretariat for senior level Boards, including the monthly DGET Business Board, the quarterly Exports Steering Board and the weekly DGET Executive Leadership Team meetings, and working groups. Work closely with Planning and Performance colleagues to ensure the meetings are set up, support documents are circulated in advance, take minutes and actions during the meetings, and send out all documents post-meetings to meeting attendees.
- **Business planning and performance reporting**:assist with the development and delivery of new reporting processes and business planning across DGET. Liaise with Planning and Performance colleagues as well as working-level leads across DGET (both within Directorates and overseas) on performance related work.
- **Performance tracking**: track and collate information and improve the DGET dashboard for performance metrics. Liaise with Directorate/HMTC teams to collate, analyse and input performance information and feedback into our DGET Business Board performance slides.
- **Project support**: support the delivery of new and current project workstreams, as required, within the Performance and Commissions team and within wider DGET.
- **Team support**: identify, develop and share best practice processes, tools and templates within the team and across DGET.

**Hybrid working**

Please be aware that this role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas.

Informal hybrid working arrangements will be available as agreed with the vacancy manager and in line with the requirements of the role.

Most DIT employees will be working a hybrid pattern, spending 2-3 days a week (pro rata) in an office, on average. If your office location is London, you will be eligible to receive London weighting.
