We have an exciting opportunity for a Group Facilitator to join our team in Buckinghamshire. The main purpose of the role will be to plan, assess and facilitate the delivery and safe provision of group services for people affected by dementia.
The successful individual will be tasked with providing stimulating, beneficial activities for people affected by dementia and their families and carers. This is an incredibly rewarding and vital role which will require patience and understanding but also exceptional organisational skills.
We provide services, delivered in either a group setting, virtual or a mixture of both (to include):
- Singing for the Brain Groups
- Information Groups
- Peer Support Groups
To be considered for this integral role we would welcome applicants who are committed, organised, resilient and empathetic and ready to actively promote our services across all communities. They will encourage ALL people affected by dementia to feel included, supported and able to access our services.
You will have:
- Previous experience working within a Health and Social Care setting, Educational or have personal experience supporting individuals with long term support needs.
- An understanding of the value of group activities in communities and the importance of volunteer support.
- Experience of working to a budget and understanding the importance of using funds appropriately.
- An understanding of the need for service user confidentiality.
- An understanding of collaborative working.
- Able to assess and evaluate service user needs.
- Commitment to and understanding of equal opportunities.
- Good IT skills
- Empathy and listening skills whilst understanding professional boundaries.
- Non-judgemental communication skills.
- The ability to travel independently across Buckinghamshire.
